Our Services

Milk Crate Kitchen intentionally serves individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in the Greater Portland area, with a focus on those often excluded from traditional food assistance systems. In 2025, over 20,000 meals were distrubited!

Our recipients include houseless neighbors, low-income and working-class households, single parents, students, elders, and veterans. We also serve communities that experience systemic barriers to food access, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ families, people with disabilities, and those managing chronic illness or aging-related challenges.

 

By preparing and delivering chef-made, nutrient-dense meals at no cost—and without requiring paperwork or proof of need—we reduce barriers and ensure equitable access to nourishing food. Our goal is to serve people with dignity and care, creating not only food security but also a sense of inclusion and belonging. We partner with other community organizations to reach more food insecure individuals who are experiencing income and housing insecurity.
